Framed Ceiling

A framed ceiling is used in a heated building where efficiency is important.  Normally, heating the attic area above the bottom of the trusses results in wasted energy.  Ceiling joists are 2x6 joists spaced 24” on center installed between the bottom chords of the trusses.  A sheathing, typically drywall, is attached to the ceiling joist creating a surface for blow in insulation.  The finished ceiling will give the room or building a completed appearance and promote energy efficiency.
