Steel Structures America built this 30′ × 40′ × 16′ residential post-frame building in Mead, WA. With a lean-to, insulated structure, and custom details, this project combines practical design with long-term durability.
The main structure measures 30′ × 40′ with a 16′ eave height and a 4/12 gable roof pitch. An attached 12′ × 40′ lean-to adds covered space for equipment storage or everyday use. An overhead door canopy with corbels spans both garage doors, giving the exterior a finished look with extra protection.
The building is finished with 29-gauge steel siding and accented by a 4′ wainscot for added durability. Fully enclosed 2′ overhangs on the gables and eaves improve ventilation and give the project a residential-style appearance.
Access includes:
SSA installed fiberglass insulation in both the roof and walls, helping regulate indoor temperatures. The building sits on a 30′ × 40′ concrete slab, poured at 5″ thick with fibermesh reinforcement and saw-cut joints for strength.
Posts were set on Perma-Columns®, which keep all wood above grade and extend the life of the building.
