Steel Structures America built this 40′ × 30′ × 12′ residential post-frame shop in Spokane, WA. Designed as a compact yet versatile space, this project combines practical storage with durable finishes that are built to last.

Design & Layout

The shop measures 40′ × 30′ with a 12′ eave height and a 4/12 gable roof pitch. Its footprint provides ample room for vehicles, equipment, or hobby use, while keeping the overall design efficient for a residential property.

Exterior & Access

The exterior features 29-gauge steel siding and roofing in a charcoal and matte black finish, giving the structure a sleek modern look. Fully enclosed 2′ soffits frame the roofline for a clean, finished appearance. The steel roofing and siding were provided by Metal America, SSA’s sister company known for locally manufactured, long-lasting building materials.

Access points include:

• (1) 16′ × 10′ insulated Therma-Tech overhead door with a raised-panel design
• (1) 3′ × 6′8″ ArmorGuard steel walk-in door

These entry points provide flexible access, natural light, and everyday convenience.

Foundation & Structure

The foundation includes a smooth 40′ × 30′ × 4″ concrete slab reinforced with fibermesh and saw-cut joints for long-term strength. Posts were set on Perma-Columns®, which keep all wood above grade and protect against rot.
