This 40′ × 60′ gable post-frame building in Parker, CO was designed as a functional shop and storage space with a 16′ eave height and an attached full-length lean-to. As a result, the owner has a highly versatile workspace with room for vehicles, equipment, and future interior improvements as needed.
In addition, a 16′ × 40′ loft increases the usable square footage and creates a practical upper-level storage area. Overall, the layout offers flexibility for both current use and long-term expansion.
The main building is a 40′ × 60′ gable-style structure with a 4:12 roof pitch. In addition, a 10′ × 60′ open lean-to runs along the eave side and adds extra covered space. At the same time, the lean-to ties smoothly into the main roofline for a clean, finished look.
Inside, the 16′ × 40′ loft is engineered for a 40-pound residential live load. It is accessed by a 4′-wide staircase and finished with shop-grade flooring. Finally, the space is completed with 36 feet of horizontal guard railing for safety and function.
