This 40×160 post-frame shop with lean-to in Parker, CO was designed to give the owner a large, flexible space for equipment storage, work areas, and long-term expansion. The extended footprint and tall eave height allow for wide vehicle access, tool organization, and indoor project space, all supported by a simple and durable layout.
The main building measures 40 feet wide by 60 feet long with a 16 foot eave height and a 4:12 roof pitch. Along one side sits a 40×60 open lean-to, built at an 8 foot eave height. The lean-to features cedar-wrapped posts and corbels, adding a custom architectural detail.
Inside, a 12×40 loft was engineered at 40 pounds residential load. It includes a 4 foot wide staircase, shop grade flooring, and 2×4 horizontal guard railing. The loft provides elevated storage while maintaining 8 feet of clear working space underneath.
The entire building received 2 inch vinyl backed fiberglass insulation in both the roof and walls. Commercial girts and bottom loaded trusses form a strong, efficient structure.
Two insulated steel overhead doors sit along the west side. One walk-in door provides daily access. The building also includes multiple 4×3 vinyl XO windows to bring natural light into the long shop footprint.
