Steel Structures America built this 30′ x 30′ x 14′ post-frame shop in Hayden, ID in 2005. The owners had a specific vision: a dedicated space for a Traeger smoker, a Blackstone griddle, and a barbecue. When the fire pit gets going and the kids are in the yard, everything starts here. They called it the Traeger shop, and it stuck.
When Steel Structures America broke ground, this was the only shop in a subdivision of 200 homes. Today, there are 30 or 40 of them in the same neighborhood.
The building also handles welding and year-round storage. A loft across the interior keeps pontoon boats, seasonal decorations, and gear off the main floor. The structure uses pre-built engineered trusses with a load-bearing bottom chord to support that overhead storage. Two-inch vinyl-backed fiberglass insulation in the roof and walls keeps the interior usable in all seasons.
