Design & Layout
This custom shop with living quarters in Hayden, ID was designed as a true multi-use post-frame building. To begin with, the structure features a large ground-level shop built to support a family-owned business, including dedicated office and showroom space. At the same time, the upper-level loft serves as the primary living quarters, creating a natural separation between work and home. As a result, the layout promotes efficiency during business hours while still offering comfort and privacy after the workday ends. In addition, the living space includes a modern gym, making the building both functional and lifestyle-focused.
Exterior Finish
For the exterior, the building is finished with 29-gauge 3′ Rolled Rib steel panels in a neutral gray, which provides a clean and professional appearance. To add contrast and visual interest, a charcoal wainscot was incorporated along the lower portion of the structure. Meanwhile, Polar White soffits help brighten the exterior and enhance the overall modern design. Altogether, this combination creates a balanced look that works equally well for commercial operations and residential use.
Roofing Color & Material
To complete the exterior, the roof is finished in Charcoal, which ties seamlessly into the wainscot below. Not only does steel roofing offer a cohesive visual finish, but it also delivers long-term durability and reliable protection. Because this building supports both daily business activity and full-time living, steel was the ideal choice for strength, longevity, and low maintenance.
