Steel Structures America built this 14′ × 20′ residential pole building in Spokane, WA. Compact yet highly functional, this project was designed to serve as a small garage or storage shop while maintaining a clean residential appearance.
The main building measures 14′ × 20′ with a 10′ eave height and a 4/12 gable roof pitch. The crew attached a 22′ × 22′ single-slope lean-to to the main structure, adding extra covered space for equipment, vehicles, or flexible use. The overall layout balances utility with compact dimensions, making it well-suited for a residential setting.
SSA finished the exterior with 29-gauge steel siding and added 2′ enclosed soffits for ventilation. The team poured a smooth 4″ concrete slab, reinforced it with fibermesh, and cut control joints for long-term durability.
The building includes:
The overhead doors feature a contemporary raised-panel design with plain lite windows. SSA installed them in a contrasting color to create visual interest against the siding and roof.
The crew installed 2 ½″ fiberglass insulation in the roof and walls to regulate indoor temperatures. On the interior, they finished the south and east walls with drywall. The foundation includes Perma-Columns®, which keep all wood above grade for long-term strength.
This Spokane project shows how SSA builds residential pole buildings that maximize space and functionality. Its compact footprint, insulated walls and roof, and attached lean-to make the structure ready for everyday use and long-term reliability.
