Steel Structures America built this 36′ x 48′ x 20′ post-frame shop with a loft in Sandpoint, ID. The standard gable design pairs an open shop floor with a full loft above, framed for a bedroom and bath. A 4/12 roof pitch keeps the roofline low while adding clearance for the loft level.
Because the loft is framed for future living space, Steel Structures America engineered the floor system and trusses to carry residential loads, and egress windows meet code for that upper level. On the ground floor, two 12′ x 14′ overhead doors open the shop to equipment and vehicles. A 6′ x 6′ covered porch shelters the walk-in entry alongside them.
